Town Services and Facility Closures

Town Hall

Town Hall will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on December 21, 2018, re-opening on January 2, 2019. All online services will still be available.

To report urgent problems related to roads, traffic lights and signs, parks and trees or storms, call 905-845-6601 to be connected with our after-hours service.

Parking

To book temporary overnight parking please use our online permit system.

Community centres, pools and arenas

Community centres, pools and arenas will be closed:

  • at noon on December 24
  • December 25 and 26
  • at 4 p.m. on December 31
  • January 1

Trafalgar Park outdoor rink

The outdoor rink at Trafalgar Park is closed on December 25.

The outdoor rink will be open with adjusted hours on the following dates:

  • December 24: 10 a.m. to noon
  • December 26, 31 and January 1: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Youth Centres

Nottinghill and QEPCCC Youth Centres will be closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1.

Nottinghill Youth Centre will be open 1-8 p.m. on December 27, 28 and 29.

QEPCCC Youth Centre will be open regular hours on December 27, 28 and 29.

Seniors centres

Seniors centres will be closed on December 21 and will re-open on January 2, 2019.

Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts

The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts box office will be closed December 23 to 27, 30 and January 1.

The Oakville Centre will be open for performances on December 28, 29 and 31.

Oakville Museum

The Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate will be closed December 24, 25 26, 31 and January 1.

Regular hours resume January 2.

Central Operations

Central Operations Depot will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 30, 31 and January 1.

Oakville Public Library

All library branches will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1.

All branches will reopen with regular hours on Wednesday, January 2.

Fire Administration, Training and Fire Prevention Divisions

Fire Administration will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on December 21, 2018 and will re-open on January 2, 2019.

The Fire Prevention and Fire Training Divisions will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2017, and January 1, 2018.

Holiday Transit Service

December 24:  Regular weekday service until 9 p.m. No service after 9 p.m.
December 25: Sunday level of service 
December 26: Saturday level of service
December 27 and 28: Regular weekday service
December 31: Regular weekday service with additional Late Night Service to meet the last trains from Toronto, departing the Oakville GO Station. Ride FREE after 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
January 1: Sunday service

Dates not listed will maintain regular service.

School specials will not operate the week of December 24 to 31, 2018.
