Downtown Oakville two-way street conversions begin October 23

Entire street network is scheduled to be converted by mid-November
As part of the Downtown Plan, the town is converting all existing one-way streets in downtown Oakville to two-way streets.
The following is a schedule of the streets under construction:
- Thomas Street, Dunn Street, George Street: October 23–24
Two-way conversion from Randall Street to Lakeshore Road includes new signage and pavement markings.
- Church Street: October 29–31
Two-way conversion and resurfacing from Navy Street to Allan Street includes asphalt grinding, new pavement, signage and markings.
- Randall Street: November 5–7
Two-way conversion and resurfacing from Navy Street to Douglas Street includes asphalt grinding, new pavement, signage and markings.
- Navy Street, Dunn Street, George Street: November 12–14
Resurfacing on Navy Street (Randall Street to Lakeshore Road), Dunn Street and George Street (Randall Street to Church Street) includes asphalt grinding, new pavement and markings.
The streets are open to one-lane traffic and on-street parking is temporarily removed while work is underway. Any changes to downtown transit routes will be available on the Oakville Transit website.
The two-way conversion of the existing street network was approved as part of the town’s Downtown Transportation and Streetscape Study. The conversions are being completed in advance of the Lakeshore Road Reconstruction and Streetscape Project.
