Holiday hours and closures of town facilities for December 24, 2019 to January 2, 2020

Warmest Holiday Wishes from Town Council and staff! Please review the following facility closures and schedule updates for the holiday season.

Town Hall

Town Hall will be closed at noon on December 24, re-opening on January 2. 

All online services will be available.

To report urgent problems related to roads, traffic lights and signs, parks and trees or storms, call 905-845-6601 to be connected with our after-hours service.

To book temporary overnight parking, please use our online permit system.

Recreations facilities (community centres, pools, arenas, youth centres and seniors centres)

All facilities closed:

  • at noon on December 24
  • December 25 and 26
  • at 4 p.m. on December 31 (except Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts)
  • January 1

Additional closures :

  • Maple Grove Arena is closed on December 27 and 31
  • Kinoak Arena is closed December 27, 28, 29 and 31
  • Centennial Pool is closed on December 24
  • White Oaks is Pool​ is closed December 27
  • QEPCCC Youth Centre is closed December 29.

Program schedules:

Between December 21 and January 6, drop-in activities and facility hours have been modified at all locations. Please visit Active Oakville or call the facility directly for current offerings before attending.

Trafalgar Park outdoor rink

The outdoor rink at Trafalgar Park is closed on December 25.

Trafalgar Park outdoor rink adjusted hours:

  • 10 a.m. to noon on December 24
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 26, 31 and January 1

Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts

The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts box office will be closed at noon on December 24, and all day on December 25, 26, 27, and January 1.

The Oakville Centre will be open for performances on December 28, 29 and 31. The box office will be open on December 30.

Oakville Museum

The Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate will be closed December 24, 25, 26 and January 1.

Regular hours resume January 2.

Central Operations

Central Operations Depot will be closed December 25, 26 and January 1.

Oakville Public Library

All library branches will be closed December 25, 26 and January 1. Regular hours resume on January 2.

Fire Administration, Training and Fire Prevention Divisions

Fire Administration will be closed at noon on December 24 and will re-open on January 2.

The Fire Prevention and Fire Training Divisions will be closed on December 25 and 26 and January 1.

Transit Service

For schedule information, visit the Oakville Transit website or call 905-815-2020.

  • regular weekday service until 9 p.m. No service after 9 p.m. on December 24
  • Sunday level of service on December 25
  • Saturday level of service on December 26 and 27
  • regular weekday service with additional Late Night Service to meet the last trains from Toronto, departing the Oakville GO Station. Ride FREE after 7 p.m. on December 31
  • Sunday level of service on January 1

Dates not listed will maintain regular service.

School specials will not operate the week of December 23 and December 30.
