As a result of the Federal Government’s direction, the flags at all town facilities will remain lowered for November 8 for Indigenous Veterans Day and then raised in the morning of November 9. They will then be lowered again on November 11 for Remembrance Day.
On the morning of November 12, the flags will be raised again and remain raised.
Flags have flown at half-mast since May 30, in response to the recovery of hundreds of children’s’ bodies from unmarked graves at the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School in British Columbia.
