You are invited to attend and provide input at this meeting hosted by Planning and Development Council.

The Planning Services department will be presenting a recommendation report with respect to three proposed official plan amendments (OPAs) at this meeting.

The purpose of these amendments is to update the town’s official plan documents based on the 2017 Active Transportation Master Plan Update.

The effect of the proposed amendment to the Livable Oakville Plan (OPA 28) will be to provide a new town-wide map (Schedule D) showing existing and planned active transportation facilities such as bike lanes, bike routes and multi-use trails. The effect of the proposed amendments to the North Oakville East and West Secondary Plans (OPA 319 and OPA 320) will be to update the policies to reference the planned active transportation facilities shown on the new map in the Livable Oakville Plan (Schedule D).

Collectively, the proposed amendments apply to all lands in the Town of Oakville.

At this time there are no other applications, under the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended, pertaining to the subject lands.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council c/o the Town Clerk at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3 or at townclerk@oakville.ca before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted:

  • the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Town of Oakville Council to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal; and
  • the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

Any submission to the Planning and Development Council, either in hard copy or in electronic format, must be forwarded to the Clerk’s department for receipt no later than noon on May 14, 2018, to ensure its availability to the Members of Council at the meeting. Individuals making oral submissions at the public meeting are requested to submit a written outline of the submission to the Town Clerk. All submissions should include the full name and address of the presenter.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Town of Oakville on the proposed official plan amendment, you must make a written request to the Town Clerk at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3 or at townclerk@oakville.ca.
