Notice of Meeting on August 6, 2019 for a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment for 2250 Speers Road

You are invited to attend and provide input at this meeting hosted by Planning and Development Council.

The Planning Services department will be presenting a recommendation report with respect to the development proposal at this meeting.

The applicant has submitted a Zoning By-law Amendment to permit a dementia care facility providing family caregiver support, an adult day program and short stay overnight respite care on the subject lands.  In order to allow the proposed use, the applicant has submitted Zoning By-law Amendment application to modify the existing E1 zoning of the property through a site specific Special Provision.

The proposed Special Provision proposes to allow for temporary overnight respite care for a maximum of eight (8) individuals at any one time, and to allow 80% of the net floor area for daycare use to allow for the adult day programming.

The subject lands are located on the south side of Speers Road, east of Bronte Road and west of Third Line.

At this time there are no other applications, under the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended, pertaining to the subject lands.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Oakville to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council c/o the Town Clerk at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3 or at TownClerk@oakville.ca before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to Council c/o the Town Clerk at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

Any submission to the Planning and Development Council, either in hard copy or in electronic format, must be forwarded to the Clerk's department for receipt no later than noon on August 6, 2019, to ensure its availability to the Members of Council at the meeting. Individuals making oral submissions at the public meeting are requested to submit a written outline of the submission to the Town Clerk.  All submissions should include the full name and address of the presenter.
