Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment

Council passed zoning by-law 2019-029 under section 34, of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended on May 13, 2019.
The purpose and effect of zoning by-law 2019-029 is to allow for the development of four street townhouses at 47 Nelson Street. Specifically, the application proposes to rezone the site from Existing Development (ED) to Residential Medium (RM1) with a revised Special Provision reflecting the existing lot frontage of 28.3 metres, whereas the RM1 zone require a minimum of 30.5 metres of lot frontage.
Council’s decision reflects that Council has fully considered all the written and oral submissions relating to this matter and that those comments have been appropriately addressed.
The subject parcel of land is on the east side of Nelson Street, south of Marine Drive.
The subject land is the subject of an application under the Act for approval of a plan of subdivision, file number 24T-18007/1728.
Any appeals to the proposed zoning by-law amendment must be filed with the Town Clerk at 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON, L6H 0H3; must set out the reasons for the appeal; and must be accompanied with a certified cheque or money order in the amount of $300.00 payable to the Minister of Finance. Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a by-law to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Town of Oakville Council c/o the Town Clerk (at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3 or at TownClerk@oakville.ca) or, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
