The Premier of Ontario has declared a province-wide state of emergency and issued a stay-at-home order in response to rising COVID-19 variant infection rates.
Councillor Janet Haslett-Theall was elected Town Councillor for Ward 3 in October 2018.
Councillor Haslett-Theall is a proud graduate of Trent University and Rotman School of Management in Strategic Human Resources, with her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. She has worked as a Human Resources Professional for 30 years; the last fourteen as a consultant/ombudsperson for manufacturing, small business and professional services.
She has been an active community volunteer for the past 12 years, including chairing the EJ James Public School Council and 9 years as the president Joshua Creek Residents Association. She was the co- founder of a coalition of 11 Resident Associations to champion “fair geographic distribution of community services”. This volunteer effort resulted in Town Council’s approval of two community centres: Trafalgar Park Community Centre (the old Oakville Arena) and the Southeast Community Centre.
Councillor Haslett-Theall, her husband Larry and three children have been residents of Ward 3 since 1991.
