To help slow the spread of COVID-19 and support Public Health officials, the Town of Oakville has joined the Province of Ontario and Halton Region in declaring a State of Emergency. Facilities and parks remain closed. Only essential services are being delivered.
This is Councillor Marc Grant's fifth term on Oakville Town Council.
Councillor Grant chose to settle in Oakville in 1995 after spending time in different countries and living in several cities across Canada, as well as a year spent working in a Northern Manitoba Reservation.
He has been a stringer for a major daily newspaper; a copywriter for several advertising agencies; creative director for an Ottawa firm; communications specialist for the CBC; and has helped, written for and strategized with politicians from each of the major parties at one time or another, including such people as Sharon Carstairs and Gary Filmon.
As a trained chef, Councillor Grant recently worked for several years as weekend cook for a local homeless shelter and continues to focus on poverty and food issues in the area. He also provides marketing consultation while working on several writing projects for a variety of media.
