The Premier of Ontario has declared a province-wide state of emergency and issued a stay-at-home order in response to rising COVID-19 variant infection rates.
Councillor Pavan Parmar was elected Town and Regional Councillor for Ward 7 in October 2018.
Councillor Parmar and her husband Neal are lifelong Oakville residents and reside in Ward 7 with their son Millen.
Early in her career, Pavan served as an aide to Gary Carr, Halton Regional Chair, during his tenure as a Member of Parliament. She went on to become a Consultant with international consulting firm BDO Canada LLP, while remaining active in the community. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and a MBA degree from the Ted Rogers School of Business at Ryerson University.
Councillor Parmar served on the ICCRC Board of Directors, the appointed federal regulatory body for practicing immigration consultants where she was the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. During her time at Ryerson University she served as the Vice President of external communications for the Women in Leadership Association and has continued to support the association on events. She is passionate about the role of women and youth in Canadian politics.
