Thursday, April 18, 2024

On April 8, 2024, the Town of Oakville Council endorsed the Parks Plan 2031, which examines the need for parkland in the municipality, and was prepared and made available to the public in accordance with the requirements of the Planning Act.

On April 8, 2024, the Town of Oakville Council passed Parkland Dedication By-law 2024-034, to require the conveyance of parkland or the payment-in-lieu of parkland pursuant to section 42 the Planning Act. By-law 2024-034 came into effect on April 9, 2024.

Any person or organization may appeal this by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal under Section 42(4.9) of the Planning Act by filing a notice of appeal, setting out the objection to the by-law and reasons supporting the objection, with the Town Clerk at TownClerk@oakville.ca or 905-815-6015, no later than May 21, 2024. A copy of the appeal form is available from the Ontario Land Tribunal, to be accompanied with a certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance.

The Parkland Dedication By-law 2024-034 applies to all lands within the Town of Oakville and as such a key map is not provided for the purpose of this notice.
