Community Benefits Charge Policy

Policy statement

The Corporation of the Town of Oakville collects community benefits charges under the authority of the Planning Act and the Town of Oakville Community Benefits Charge By-law. Community benefits charges (CBCs) shall be collected and utilized in a fiscally responsible manner in order to fund growth-related infrastructure that manages the impacts of high-density development and leads to complete communities.  

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the administration, collection, and use of CBCs.

Scope

This policy applies to residential development and redevelopment that are required to pay CBCs, in accordance with the Town of Oakville Community Benefits Charge By-law and the Planning Act.
