Stormwater Management Fee Policy

The stormwater fee was approved by Council on September 29, 2025. The Stormwater Management Fee Policy comes into effect on January 1, 2026.

Policy statement 

​​The Corporation of the Town of Oakville (Town) will collect stormwater fees to recover the costs of operating, maintaining, repairing, replacing, and upgrading the stormwater drainage system, unless otherwise directed by Council.​ 

Purpose 

​​The purpose of this policy is to provide a framework to ensure a consistent, transparent, efficient, and accountable approach for establishing and managing stormwater fees and charges across Oakville properties that promotes full cost recovery of the stormwater management program. Ongoing review of stormwater costs and fees will occur to ensure the purpose of this policy and related procedure is met.​ 

Scope 

​​This policy applies to all residential and non-residential properties within the Town of Oakville.​
