Be part of something big
Culture Days is a free, Canada-wide celebration of arts, culture and community that encourages people to explore culture and creativity in accessible and meaningful ways.
Oakville has been the number one participating community for four years and counting – and this year, we’re inviting local businesses, organizations, artists and community groups to help us expand our impact even further.
Good for culture. Good for the community. Good for business.
You don’t need to be an arts or culture-based organization to participate. Businesses and community organizations can participate in authentic, achievable ways through simple and low-cost activities or events.
Hosting an activity or event can be a valuable opportunity to:
- reach new audiences, expand your visibility and increase foot or online traffic
- connect with your community by creating enriching, memorable experiences
- showcase your unique expertise, creativity, heritage or stories
- be part of a national celebration and Oakville’s Culture Days success
Culture is everywhere
Culture Days takes a broad and flexible approach to culture. Your event or activity could incorporate:
- art, music, poetry or dance
- theatre, film, comedy or storytelling
- design, fashion or textiles
- crafting or artisanship
- cuisine, heritage or history
- sport, movement or wellness
- and much more!
Qualified events and activities
Activities can be simple, flexible and tailored to your organization. Consider a hands-on workshop, demonstration, interactive tour, performance, cultural experience or collaboration with a local artist. You may even be planning something that already qualifies!
To participate, your event or activity must:
- be free for the public
- be interactive (event-based, hands-on, immersive or experiential)
- include a cultural element or lens of any type
- take place between September 18 and October 4, 2026
