Cemetery By-law 2018-065 regulates the use of all municipal cemeteries. Municipal cemeteries operated by the Town of Oakville are: Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery, St. Jude's Cemetery, Oakville/St. Mary's Cemetery, Merton Cemetery, Bronte Cemetery, Wedgewood Cemetery, Palermo Cemetery, and Munn's Cemetery.
This by-law provides regulations for, but not limited to:
- Consumer protection
- Care and maintenance of the cemetery
- Flowers, candles and other decorative elements
- General information (hours of operation, service charges, acceptable conduct , liability etc.)
- Interment, disinterment and scattering rights
- Markers
- Contractors and workers
