Harbours By-law 2012-007 regulates the use of municipal harbours, which includes the Oakville Harbour, Bronte Inner Harbour and Bronte Outer Harbour. The Harbour By-law sets out rules and regulations to maintain the harbours as a defining feature of the town, promote safe public use and enjoyment of the harbours, and promote the importance of maintaining a clean and natural environment in the harbours.

The regulations set out in this by-law include but are not limited to:

  • Acceptable conduct in harbours
  • Mooring 
  • Launch, haul and storage 
  • Operation of vessels
  • Harbour care and protection, including the Clean Marine program
  • Contractors

Failure to follow the rules set out in this by-law or applicable regulations set out in the permit may result in a permit being revoked.
