Become a school crossing guard

Do you enjoy working with children? Are you physically fit? Become a school crossing guard!

Our crossing guard programs assist children from the Halton Catholic District School Board and the Halton District School Board.

If you are interested in becoming a Town of Oakville crossing guard, you can apply online by viewing our current opportunities.

Crossing guards work a maximum of three hours per day during the school year.

Rules for school crossings

Drivers and cyclists must stop and yield the whole roadway at school crossings where there is a crossing guard displaying a school crossing stop sign.
