The Commissioner of Community Development passed Temporary Use By-law 2024-003 under section 39, of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended on January 30, 2024.

The purpose and effect of Temporary Use By-law 2024-003 is to permit a temporary use of a Commercial Parking Area for a period of three years.

The effect of this application is to allow 17 parking spaces for paid parking in Downtown Oakville.

The subject lands are located south of Water Street and west of Navy Street.

At this time there are no other applications, under the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended, pertaining to the subject lands.

There were no written or oral submissions related to this matter.

Any appeals to the proposed by-law amendment must be filed with the Town Clerk at 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON, L6H 0H3; must set out the reasons for the appeal; and must be accompanied by the fee required by the Ontario Land Tribunal. A copy of the appeal form is available from the Ontario Land Tribunal website.  

Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.

No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Commissioner of Community Development c/o the Town Clerk (at the Town of Oakville, Clerk’s department, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3 or at or, in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
