Mayor Burton welcomes province’s new Halton courthouse announcement

Mayor Burton welcomed the announcement by Attorney General Doug Downey regarding the awarding of the Request for Proposal to design a modern, accessible courthouse in Oakville that will serve all of Halton Region.

It is impressive how quickly Attorney General Doug Downey and Premier Doug Ford have responded to Halton Council’s unanimous resolution I and Milton Mayor Gord Krantz put forward Wednesday!
Their commitment to increase resources for court operations and to move forward on a new Halton courthouse will strengthen our justice system and help ensure criminal cases are handled more efficiently.
I want to acknowledge and thank our MPPs Minister Stephen Crawford and Parliamentary Assistant Effie Triantafilopoulos for their hard work with us to achieve this long-desired goal.
It's great how much we can accomplish when we work together.
