Oakville’s outstanding volunteer community was celebrated for their leadership, dedication and community involvement at last night’s 23rd annual Community Spirit Awards held last night at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre.
The 2025 Community Spirit Awards recipients are:
- Carol Gall – Arts, Culture and Heritage Award – sponsored by Creative Arts Financial, a division of FirstOntario Credit Union
- Suvi Kakan – Climate Action Award – sponsored by JNE Landscaping and Maintenance
- Good Neighbour Award – sponsored by Chartwell Retirement Residences, two award recipients: Alice Agar, and Iroquois Ridge Older Adult Centre Special Events Team (Betty Currie, Karen Bond, Pamela Strachan, Sheila Abedin, Wendy Tang- Wing, Lise Roy, Rosemary Zielinski, Maureen Coleman, Lois Wennekes)
- Elisa Ahenkorah – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility Award – sponsored by Access Abilities
- Siddhanta Goel – Inspiration Award – sponsored by RBC Royal Bank
- Akshaj Kshirasagar – Leadership and Innovation Award - sponsored by First Ontario Credit Union
This year’s awards were designed by Elena Martoglio, a talented glass and ceramic mosaic artist. Individual unique pieces were presented to each award recipient at the event, which was emceed by media personality Chris Mei.
