Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Council Chamber, Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road

What is proposed?

The purpose is to establish a Community Planning Permit (CPP) By-law for the Town of Oakville which would apply to Midtown Oakville and Bronte Village. This draft CPP By-law will have area specific provisions for Bronte Village to guide future development and align with the general provisions of the draft CPP By-law framework. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to present information and receive public comments on the proposed:

  • Official Plan Amendment; and,
  • CPP By-law specifically for Bronte Village

The required materials will be posted on the project webpage on October 14, 2025.

A CPP By-law is a regulatory tool with which the Town implements the Livable Oakville Plan (Official Plan). Prior to passing the CPP By-law, an Official Plan Amendment is required as enabling policy.

The effect of the proposed amendments includes changes to:

  • Add enabling policy to the Official Plan to identify Bronte Village Growth Area as a CPP area;
  • Add specific provisions for Bronte Village Growth Area, which align with the general provisions of the draft CPP By-law framework; and,
  • Add specific provisions for Bronte Village Growth Area related to existing and permitted land uses, site layout, built form standards, criteria and variation from the standards, and other community building matters.

The proposed amendments will result in changes to the following parts of the Official Plan:

  • Section 24 (Bronte Village); and,
  • As amended by OPA 70, newly renumbered section 30.15 (Community Planning Permit System).

The proposed amendments will result in adding the following section to the draft CPP By-law framework:

  • Part E, section 2 (Bronte Village).

Through a separate notice of public meeting, the Town of Oakville is also proposing a CPP By-law that includes general provisions related to Interpretation, Administration and General Community Building matters that could be applied to any CPP area within the Town.
