East Morrison Creek Erosion Mitigation Study Schedule ‘B’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

Study overview

The Town of Oakville has initiated the East Morrison Creek Erosion Mitigation Study to identify erosion risks, define erosion hazards, and develop preferred options to mitigate erosion in the study area.

The study area of East Morrison Creek extends from the Morrison-Wedgewood diversion channel, directly east of Oakville Town Hall, upstream to the culvert at Postridge Drive. This area of concern was identified in the 2021 Creek Inventory and Assessment Study.

Process

This study is being undertaken as a Schedule B project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Process, approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.  As part of the EA process, public engagement is undertaken to review project problems/opportunities, define existing conditions, review alternative solutions, and identify preliminary preferred alternative solutions. This is the second of two PICs being planned for the study.
