Call for artists: Connextions 2026 vinyl photo window murals

Now accepting submissions until March 1, 2026

The Town of Oakville is inviting professional artists to submit photo‑based artwork for the Connextions 2026 Vinyl Window Murals project. The selected murals will be reproduced as large‑scale vinyl installations on community centre windows across Oakville, adding colour, energy and visual interest to these public spaces.

Submissions are due by March 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Selected artists will receive an $800 commission per mural, which will be displayed at select locations during the CONTACT Photography Festival (May 2026) and Ontario Culture Days Festival (September 19 to October 4, 2026).

Artists are encouraged to propose work that reflects the theme of connecting communities, offering visual interpretations of neighbourhood identity, shared spaces and belonging. Artwork should be vibrant, community‑focused and inspired by arts, culture or nature.

Eligibility

• Open to professional Canadian artists (emerging, mid‑career and established) living in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas.
• Priority will be given to artists with demonstrated connections to Oakville.
• Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
• Artists who participated in previous Connextions projects are not eligible for the 2026 program.
