Get involved in Oakville’s 2026 Santa Claus Parade

Wednesday, October 07, 2026

Santa Claus is coming to town! Join Santa and friends for the 78th anniversary of the annual Oakville Santa Claus Parade. Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 14 at 9 a.m. and join us in downtown Oakville for this community celebration. This year’s theme is ‘North Pole Sweets and Treats!”

The Santa Claus Parade would not be possible without community support and involvement. Whether you’re a local business looking to become a sponsor, a student in need of volunteer hours, a community group with an exciting idea for a float, or a young artist looking to participate in the colouring contest, there are many ways to get involved in the parade.

Sponsorship information

The parade is a true community event that relies on the support of local businesses like Community Champion Sponsor Rosehaven Homes, to bring it to life each year. For details on how to sponsor the parade, please review the Town's Special Event Sponsorship Package and refer to page 10 for parade specific details.

Float and volunteer information

The parade is also accepting applications for floats, walking groups, marching bands, and volunteers for costumed characters and more. Applications for volunteers close on Monday, October 26 at 11:59 p.m. while applications for bands, floats, and walking groups close on Sunday, November 1 at 11:59 p.m. The Best Overall Float will receive free entry in the 2027 parade.

For more details about sponsorship and volunteer information, including the application forms, visit the Join the Parade page.

Colouring Contest – Become the Honorary Grand Marshal

The Santa Claus Parade Colouring Contest is back! Young artists are invited to enter the 2026 Colouring Contest for a chance to ride with Mrs. Claus as the parade’s Honorary Grand Marshal. Download the colouring sheet (pdf), created by professional artist Yen Linh Thai. Submit a scanned copy or photo of your completed entry by email to events@oakville.ca. The contest closes on Monday, November 2 at 4 p.m. Children must be at least 10 years old to ride with Mrs. Claus in the parade.
