Road closure on George Street starting October 8, 2026

Starting on October 8, 2026 until December 31, 2026, the southbound lane of George Street will be temporarily closed to through traffic for the Town of Oakville Towne Square Revitalization Project:

• George Street southbound lane closure between Robinson Street and William Street.
• The detour route will be along: Robinson Street and Thomas Street and William Street. Northbound traffic on George Street will be maintained for access.
• An extension to the above lane closure is anticipated to support the revitalization of Towne Square. An update on the lane closure will be provided in December 2026.
