Snow clearing update - January 29, 2026

The Town declared a Significant Weather Event due to heavy snow on Sunday, January 25, 2026. This declaration suspends our standard timelines for winter maintenance activities due to the large amount of snow. 

Under normal conditions, plowing of all streets is completed within 24 hours after snowfall ends; however, these timelines are extended during the ongoing Significant Weather Event. Crews have been working continuously on snow clearing operations, and we thank you for your patience.

To assist crews in maintaining safe and accessible roads, we strongly recommend removing vehicles from the street where possible, particularly overnight. Clear streets allow our snowplows to work more efficiently and help reduce snow buildup around parked vehicles.

To help residents, we’re providing an estimated timeline for completion. Please note that these timelines are subject to change based on the clearing operation. We will do our best to keep you informed of any changes. 

Timelines for completion

• Primary and secondary roads
  • All roads are completed
• Primary/secondary sidewalks
  • Plowing is complete
  • Clean-up/snow removal will continue along with sidewalk quality inspection
  • Expected completion by afternoon of January 30
• Residential roads
  • All roads have had two passes
  • Clean up operations continue
  • Estimated to be completed by afternoon of January 30
• Residential sidewalks
  • Crews have started clearing residential sidewalks
  • Estimated to be completed by evening of January 29
• Transit stops
  • First pass of all stops is complete
  • Clean up is expected to be completed by morning of January 29
• Town assumed laneways
  • Snow removal completed
  • Note that the town does not remove snow on unassumed laneways as the developer is responsible for maintenance
• BIAs
  • Snow removal continues nightly operations
  • Note that snow removal may cause noise in the area
• Paid windrow program
  • All windrows that are part of the program are complete
