Air quality impacts on town services

Thursday, June 08, 2023
With the recent Quebec wildfires impacting Oakville’s air quality, the town has been monitoring the Air Quality Health Index closely to ensure the appropriate safety modifications are taken so we can continue to offer programs and services safely. The health, safety, and well-being of residents is our top priority.

On June 8, 2023, Lions Pool will remain open for limited recreational swims. Swimmers can cancel without penalty. Staff will be following Halton Region Public Health guidelines.

Our sports fields remain open, however user group, clubs, and community organizations may cancel or reschedule their event without penalty.

According to the Special Air Quality Statement issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, poor air quality may continue into the weekend. The town will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates. Follow the town on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram or visit our website.
