Oakville Fire lifts Town-wide fire ban

Monday, August 18, 2025

The Oakville Fire Department has lifted the Town-wide fire ban for all open-air burning effective immediately (August 18, 2025). The decision to end the burn ban is based on the rainfall received over the weekend and cooler temperatures in the forecast.

Oakville Fire issued a ban on August 11 due to an extended heat wave, prolonged dry conditions and minimal rainfall.

Oakville Fire advises the community to continue practicing fire safety, including when using open fire and fire pits, propane barbecues, cooking indoors and outdoors, candle use and to ensure that smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms are in working condition.

More details about fire safety are available on the Fire Prevention and Safety page.
