This fall, the Oakville Museum invites the community to step into a season of history, mystery and creativity. From spine-tingling installations and pumpkin parades to craft brews and curious artifacts, the museum’s lineup blends art, storytelling and seasonal charm for all ages.

Walking Tour: Oakville and the Underground Railroad

Join one of two Oakville and the Underground Railroad walking tours on October 18 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. (ages 18+) or October 19 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. (ages 10 to 17 with caregivers) and learn about Oakville’s early Black settlers and the Town’s ties to the Underground Railroad. Tickets are available now

Good Libations: Brewed Awakenings

Visit the Oakville Museum from 7 to 9 p.m. on October 24 to experience Oakville’s spirited past at Good Libations: Brewed Awakenings. This exclusive evening will explore the Town’s fascinating relationship with alcohol. Raise a glass with Cameron’s Brewing Company, enjoy curator-led insights into the objects, oddities, and stories behind the exhibit, and be amazed by the mind-bending illusions of mentalist Mike Believe. Take part in a playful after-hours scavenger hunt, discovering the museum’s most bizarre artifacts, and enjoy bites paired with craft pours. This event is for individuals aged 19 and older. Tickets are $75 and are available on the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts website.

Good Libations – New exhibit!

Explore Good Libations, the new exhibit at Erchless Estate opening on October 25 at 1 p.m. Visitors are invited to learn how alcohol stirred up some complex dynamics in Oakville’s past. Dive into the Town’s boozy backstory, spotlighting its people, business and the policies and movements that continue to shape its alcohol related social customs. Admission to the exhibit is by donation.

Pumpkin Parade

Bring your jack-o-lanterns to the Oakville Museum for the annual pumpkin parade, presented in partnership with the Oakville Historical Society and the Oakville Public Library. Enjoy story time, participate in a craft and enjoy treats on November 1 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Coach House at Oakville Museum’s Erchless Estate. Admission is free.

The Sleeper: What keeps you up at night? by Shary Boyle

Step inside a haunting, participatory installation exploring memory, fear, and reflection. Visitors can place their worries into the life-sized effigy installed in the colonial Erchless Estate, experiencing a rare ritual of release. In early November, the figure will be buried in the museum gardens and replaced by a Moon Garden of white spring flowers, symbolizing collective renewal. Admission to the exhibit is by donation.
