What is proposed?
The purpose of the proposed housekeeping amendments to Town’s zoning by-laws, is to make several housekeeping, technical and other modifications affecting all zones, which would assist in the use and interpretation of the zoning by-law and the implementation of the official plan.
The effect of By-law 2025-160 is to amend Zoning By-law 2009-189, as amended, would be as follows:
- Replacing all within maps within section 12 with new maps 12(1) to 12(10) and the map index as depicted on Schedule ‘A’ to this By-law to improve the clarity and usability of the zoning maps.
- Technical corrections to various lands addressing zone boundary concerns (i.e. split zoning, boundary corrections to public lands).
The effect of By-law 2025-161 is to amend Zoning By-law 2014-014, as amended, would be as follows:
- Replacing all maps within Part 19 with new maps 19(1) to 19(26) and the map index as depicted on Schedule ‘A’ to this By-law to improve the clarity and usability of the zoning maps.
- Technical corrections to various lands addressing zone boundary concerns (i.e. split zoning, boundary corrections to public lands).

Legal notice
Any appeals to the proposed by-law amendment must be filed with the Town Clerk at 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3; must set out the reasons for the appeal; and must be accompanied by the fee required by the Ontario Land Tribunal. A copy of the appeal form is available from the Ontario Land Tribunal website.
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Commissioner of Community Development to the Ontario Land Tribunal, but the person or public body did not make written comments or oral submissions before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing unless in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
