Submit your application by March 16, 2026

The Town’s 2026 Heritage Grant Program is now accepting applications. The program helps owners of designated heritage properties cover the cost of approved conservation work.

Owners of properties designated under Part IV or Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act, or protected through a heritage easement agreement, are invited to apply for this year’s Heritage Grant Program. Non profit groups that manage a designated property under a long-term lease or agreement may also apply with written consent from the property owner.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on March 16, 2026.

About the program

Each year, up to $180,000 is available to support conservation work on designated heritage properties. Eligible applicants may receive up to 50% of project costs, to a maximum of $15,000, with property owners required to contribute matching funds. Projects must focus on conserving or restoring key heritage features that support the long-term heritage value of the property. Work that targets non-heritage additions or could negatively impact the property’s heritage character is not eligible.

Town staff and the Heritage Oakville Advisory Committee review all submissions, with final approval provided by Council.

Application process

Eligible property owners should have received a letter in mid January 2026. Before accessing the application form, applicants are required to participate in a brief pre consultation with staff. After eligibility is confirmed, a link to the application will be provided.
