Enhanced celebration brings more activities, entertainment and family fun to Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of celebration, culture and community spirit! The Town of Oakville is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors to Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park for its annual Canada Day celebration, proudly presented by Tim Hortons.

Event highlights

Kicking off at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, the expanded event will offer more ways to play, connect and celebrate throughout the entire park, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over Lake Ontario at 10 p.m. (weather permitting).

Visitors can look forward to discovering new sights, sounds, tastes and experiences, with a full program of lively performances across two stages, strolling entertainers, delicious food trucks, cultural displays, sports, games, and more.

New this year, a Family Fun Zone at the park’s east end will offer a dedicated space for children and families to enjoy live entertainment, inflatables, crafts, face painting, and other family-friendly activities.

Getting there

To support smooth travel, traffic flow, and pedestrian safety, road closures and transit detours will be in place throughout the area, with no parking available onsite. Visitors can save time and avoid delays by parking or arranging drop-offs at Bronte GO Station and taking advantage of the Town’s free and accessible shuttle service to and from the event:

  • Shuttle service will be available starting at 3:45 p.m. from the Bronte GO parking lot’s north end, running approximately every 10 minutes until the final departure at 9:30 p.m.
  • Return service will begin following the fireworks display continuing until the final shuttle departs at 11 p.m. Boarding can only be accessed from Marine Drive via Bronte Road.

Planning ahead for a successful celebration

The Town has worked closely with Halton Regional Police Service and valued community partners to create a seamless and enjoyable event for everyone.

From enhanced lighting and clear signage to friendly guest services, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to elevate the visitor experience, with staff, volunteers, and Police officers available onsite to assist throughout the day.

The celebration will take place rain or shine, and guests are encouraged to bring sun protection, hats, refillable water bottles and weather-appropriate clothing. Free water refill stations will be available onsite. Guests may also wish to bring a blanket or lawn chair and arrive early to secure a great view for the fireworks display.

Tents, alcohol and personal fireworks are not permitted onsite. Leaving these items at home will help ensure everyone can enjoy a safe, uninterrupted celebration.

Celebrating at home?

The Town recently updated its fireworks regulations to support safe, responsible and respectful celebrations. Residents are encouraged to keep the following in mind:

  • You must be 18 or older to use or have fireworks in your possession.
  • Fireworks are permitted only between dusk and 11 p.m. on June 30, July 1 and July 2.
  • Fireworks may not be discharged in public parks or on public roads and boulevards.
  • Fireworks should never be aimed at people, pets or property.

If you’re planning a fireworks display on private property, be sure to review the Town’s fireworks safety tips for a safe and enjoyable celebration.
