Chief Administrative Officer Jane Clohecy to retire after 20 years of service with the Town of Oakville

Wednesday, October 21, 2026

After 20 years of dedicated service with the Town of Oakville, including six years as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Jane Clohecy has announced her retirement, effective December 31, 2026.

Since being selected by Town Council as CAO in 2020, Ms. Clohecy has played an important role in guiding the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic and a period of significant legislative change, as well as financial and growth pressures. Working alongside Council and staff, she has helped advance key priorities, strengthen the organization, and ensure the Town continues to deliver the high-quality services residents rely on every day.

Ms. Clohecy’s retirement follows a distinguished 45-year career in municipal government. Prior to joining the Town in 2006 as Commissioner of Community Development, she held senior planning positions with the Region of Halton, the City of Markham and the City of Toronto.

Ms. Clohecy will remain focused on key priorities for the organization until the end of the year, following which the incoming Mayor and Council will determine the next steps regarding the CAO position and the leadership the organization will need moving forward.
