Rethink your commute and discover ways to travel smarter this September

This September, the Town of Oakville is encouraging residents to explore alternate ways to get around.

Smart Commute Month is an opportunity for residents, employees and employers to explore practical alternatives to driving alone. Whether you walk, cycle, take transit or carpool, changing how you travel can help reduce traffic and emissions while supporting your health, well-being and wallet.

Switch up your commute

Oakville offers a range of transportation options, including 20 public transit routes, special school routes, ride-on-demand and care-A-van specialized transit services, and a wide network of trails and bike lanes.

This September, try walking, cycling, taking transit or carpooling to work, school or other destinations. Download the Smart Commute app to plan your trip, find carpool partners and more.

Log your trips for a chance to win!

Throughout September, log your trips using the Smart Commute app to track your progress and carbon reduction. Each eligible trip logged gives you a chance to win a $100 e-gift card.
