A fresh look, shared stories, and a place where you belong
Something new is taking root at the Oakville Museum this spring, and it’s just the beginning. As gardens bloom across the historic Erchless Estate, the Museum is celebrating Museum Month with a renewed sense of purpose, a fresh new look and a vibrant mix of programs that invite the community to connect through story, place and shared discovery.
This year’s Museum Month theme, The Value of Ontario Museums, highlights the many ways museums enrich everyday life through wellness, learning, creativity, storytelling and connection. At Oakville Museum, history loves company. It is a place where people belong, and where the community becomes part of the story.
A new look for a living history
This May marks the debut of the Oakville Museum’s new logo, a thoughtful reflection of both legacy and future. Inspired by Erchless Estate, the home of Oakville’s founding family, the design honours the depth of stories held within the Museum. Its handcrafted, stamp like style nods to archival traditions, while its clean, contemporary approach ensures it feels at home in the present.
With only part of the building revealed, the new logo reflects how history is uncovered – story by story, with the full picture unfolding over time. It invites visitors to look closer, engage more deeply and discover more with every visit. After all, history loves company.
