Notice of end of Significant Weather Event Declaration - January 29, 2026

The Significant Weather Event declared by the Town of Oakville on January 25, has been lifted as of 4 p.m. today, Thursday, January 29, 2026. 

In accordance with policy, Town staff have 48 hours to complete all snow removal operations following the end of the declaration. After this period, the Town will transition to regular winter maintenance and continue with cleanup efforts.  

Since declaring the Significant Weather Event, Town crews have been working around the clock to plow and clear roads, sidewalks, transit stops and other priority areas.

The Town thanks residents for their patience, cooperation and understanding as cleanup efforts continue following this historic storm, which brought a record 47 centimetres of snowfall over three days.
