This summer, Oakville Fire Suppression, Prevention and Public Education crews will be visiting splash pads around Town as they connect with the community though the Summer Splash campaign. Starting July 8, families are invited to meet fire crews, check out fire trucks and learn about fire and life safety.
Summer Splash is a fire prevention initiative that encourages residents to meet with and talk to local firefighters and fire prevention team members. The Oakville Fire team will share tips on how to keep children safe from burns and scalds, information about smoke and fire detection systems, and how to plan and practice home escape plans.
These events are supported by Longo's Southeast Oakville and Panago Pizza (Cornwall Road), who are providing food, while beverages are being provided by Fortino’s South Oakville. Food, water, and soft drinks will be available for purchase on site, with all proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Oakville and Milton.
Events will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at:
- July 8 – Valleyridge Park (2524 Valleyridge Drive)
- July 15 – Wynten Way Park (2495 Wynten Way)
- July 22 – Sixteen Hollow Park (2140 Westoak Trails)
- July 29 – Neyagawa Park (540 River Glen Boulevard)
- August 5 – Valleybrook Park (1150 Valleybrook Drive)
- August 12 – Fowley Park (95 Fowley Drive)
- August 19 – Forster Park (100 North Forster Park Drive)
In case of rain, crews will visit the next day (6 to 8 p.m.).
Fire safety is an important part of protecting what matters most, and crews look forward to seeing the community out this summer! Learn more on the Summer Splash page.
