Oakville’s 2025 Annual Report highlights progress on community priorities

The Town of Oakville is pleased to release its 2025 Annual Report, showcasing a year of significant progress in advancing its Strategic Plan while maintaining a strong fiscal position and investing responsibly in the future.

Once again, Oakville’s independent external auditors, KPMG, have assessed the Town’s Consolidated Financial Statements and confirm they fairly reflect Oakville’s financial position and results for the year.

Report highlights

Key highlights from the 2025 Annual Report include:

  • Planning for Future Growth: Advanced key growth management initiatives, including the approval of the Transportation Master Plan  and the adoption of OPA 70 for Midtown Oakville to guide how the area will grow and develop over the long term, endorsed streetscape plans for Bronte Village and Kerr Village; and asked for community input  on the future of the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts and the creation of a Bronte Waterfront Strategy to meet the needs of our growing and vibrant community.
  • Building Community Connections: Celebrated youth leadership with the second-annual Oakville Youth Awards; launched the “Branches to Business” program to help local businesses thrive and strengthen the local economy; and established a new Significant Snow Event protocol to help the community better understand what to expect during extreme winter weather.
  • Supporting Environmental Sustainability and Resiliency: Expanded our electric bus fleet with 15 new large capacity buses; earned the Clean Marine Diamond Elite Certification for all three harbours; approved a dedicated stormwater fee to ensure our systems are ready to manage current and future rainfall events; and added to Oakville’s urban forest with 60,000 new trees and shrubs. 
  • Promoting Innovation and Strong Governance: Maintained the lowest property tax increase among neighbouring municipalities through the 2025 Budget; modernizing our pay-by-plate parking machines to use the latest technology and making everyday services easier to use; and improved the building permit process with a new online system to simplify the submission process for residents, developers and businesses 
  • Earning Recognition and Awards: Ranked among Canada’s top locations for investment and recognized as Canada’s top participating community in Culture Days for the fourth consecutive year, affirming Oakville’s leadership in arts and culture.
