2025 Annual Report

Oakville’s commitment to excellence continues to be recognized at the local, provincial, and national levels. Here are some of the achievements that distinguished our Town in 2025. 

Oakville ranked among Canada’s top locations for investment 

In 2025, the Town of Oakville was named one of the best locations in Canada to invest by Site Selection Magazine, marking the seventh consecutive year the Town has earned this recognition. The designation highlights Oakville’s continued appeal to investors and reinforces the community’s strong economic profile. 

Oakville receives provincial funding for exceeding housing targets 

Last year, the Town of Oakville was awarded $13.2 million from Ontario’s Building Faster Fund in recognition of surpassing the 2024. The funding reflects the Town’s progress on housing goals and supports ongoing efforts to enable a greater range of housing options in the community. 

Oakville ranks first in Canada for Culture Days – again! 

The Town of Oakville’s art, culture and creativity received top honours for the fourth consecutive year in 2025 as the number one participating community in the Culture Days Festival. The recognition reflects the Town’s strong engagement in arts and cultural events, and the efforts of residents, organizations, and partners in bringing diverse cultural experiences to life across our community. 

Centennial Pool receives standing set accreditation for film production

Oakville’s decommissioned Centennial Pool received a Standing Set Accreditation from Ontario Creates, making productions using the facility eligible for the Ontario Production Services Tax Credit at 21.5 per cent of qualifying expenses. The accreditation recognizes Centennial Pool as Ontario’s only dedicated water tank filming facility and reinforces Oakville’s appeal as a location for screen-based productions.

Oakville secures provincial funding for Sixth Line stormwater improvements 

In 2025, the Town of Oakville received more than $3.2 million in funding from the Government of Ontario towards the Sixth Line Stormwater Pipe project. The investment supports critical stormwater infrastructure improvements and reflects provincial support for enhancing flood protection and system capacity in the community. 

Oakville Fire recognized for leadership in accessibility, equity, and inclusion 

The Oakville Fire Department (OFD) received two prestigious awards for dedication to providing programs that serve all ages and abilities and for supporting the Town’s commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity in the fire service. The recognition highlights the OFD’s efforts to create accessible and welcoming fire prevention and community engagement programs that reflect the needs of residents across Oakville. 

Oakville’s Harbours earn top environmental certification 

In 2025, the Town’s three harbours all achieved the Clean Marine Diamond Elite Certification in recognition of adopting and maintaining environmentally friendly practices. This top certification highlights the Town’s commitment to sustainable operations and supports ongoing efforts to protect and enhance water quality and environmental stewardship at Oakville’s harbour facilities.
