Online survey to gather public input open until March 15
The Town of Oakville is planning to update the rainbow crosswalk at Kerr Street and Lakeshore Road in June and would like your feedback on the design.
Community members are invited to participate in a short online survey to provide input and also share ways the town can better show allyship and support for all members of our community. The five-minute survey, which is anonymous and confidential, is open until March 15, 2023.
Feedback will help the town better understand what it can do to support belonging in our community. Community participation is also welcomed on what more the town can do to demonstrate inclusion for the community in the coming years.
To learn more about the town’s diversity and inclusion efforts, visit the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Multi-year Plan page.
- In addition to the online survey, the town is conducting interviews and focus groups with 2SLGBTQIA+ community organizations and youth groups. 2SLGBTQIA+ stands for two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, and additional sexual orientations and gender identities.
- Staff has been reporting on diversity initiatives and accessibility improvements for more than 15 years. The town has partnered with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion to develop a multi-year inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility plan.
- To receive the survey in an alternate format, please submit your request by phone at 905-845-6601 ext. 3689, email email@example.com or fill out the town's accessible online feedback form.
