Building Permit Information Session at Town Hall on October 1

Before you start your next home renovation project, let Oakville’s Building Department help you understand the permit process and build with confidence. Attend the Building Permit Information Session on October 1, 2026, at Town Hall and discover how securing the proper approvals can make sure your project is safe, successful, and stress-free from day one.

The community event will also provide an opportunity to meet with Town staff to get answers to your questions in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Whether you’re ready to start construction or simply exploring ideas, Building Department staff will be available to explain when permits are needed, how they help, who to contact before starting a project, and how inspections support safe construction. No special knowledge or planned projects are required - everyone is welcome to attend.

A building permit does more than meet legal requirements. Permits help make sure projects are built safely, protect homeowners’ investments, and help identify potential issues before they become costly problems. Learning about permit requirements early can help a homeowner save time, avoid delays, and move forward with peace of mind.
