Cleanup efforts continue following July 9 storm
The Significant Weather Event, declared by the Town of Oakville on July 10, has been lifted as of 3:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
In accordance with Town policy, staff have 48 hours to complete all storm response operations following the end of the declaration. After this period, the Town will transition to regular forestry maintenance and continue with cleanup efforts.
Since declaring the Significant Weather Event, Town crews have been working continuously to clear trees and large branches that have fallen on hydro lines and/or blocked roads, sidewalks or other public spaces.
To date, the Town has received more than 400 storm-related service requests. The Town thanks residents for their patience, cooperation and understanding as cleanup efforts continue following this significant storm.
