Two new indoor pools create more space for lessons, lane swimming and recreational swims
Residents can soon make a splash at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex as the Town's newest aquatic facility opens to the public on Monday, July 20, 2026. The opening comes after all required pool testing, and staff training were successfully completed.
The new aquatic centre features a 25-metre, six-lane pool and a leisure pool, providing space for swimming lessons, lane swimming, aquatic fitness programs, recreational swims and other water-based activities for residents of all ages and abilities.
Starting at noon on Monday, residents can take part in a range of aquatic drop-in activities at the new facility. Swim schedules, program information and registration details are available at programs.oakville.ca. Residents are encouraged to check schedules online before visiting, as program times and lane allocations may vary throughout the day.
Summer registered aquatic programs begin in August. Residents can browse fall program options online starting August 4, with registration opening on Tuesday, August 11 at 7 a.m.
The facility is part of the expanded Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, a destination that brings together recreation, fitness, learning, sports and community programming in one location.
