If you think your stormwater fee has been calculated using incorrect information, you can request a review.

What you can request a review for

You can ask for a review if you believe your property details are incorrect, such as:

  • The property category (for example, Residential vs. Non-Residential)
  • The property type (for example, detached home, townhouse or condo)
  • A tier or classification used to calculate your fee
  • Exemption eligibility
  • Other property or assessment information used by the Town

We will review your request using the most current information available to the Town of Oakville.

What is not reviewed

A review does not consider features or conditions on your property, including:

  • Soil type or green space
  • The amount of hard surface (such as driveways or patios)
  • Proximity to creeks, rivers or drainage features
  • Private measures like rain barrels or downspout disconnection
  • General concerns or disagreement with the stormwater fee program

How to request a review

To submit a request, you’ll need to:

  • Provide your property details, including your address and property assessment roll number (found on your property tax bill).
  • Include your contact information
  • Explain why you believe your fee is incorrect

  • Your request will be reviewed by Town staff
  • We may contact you if more information is needed
  • You will receive a response once the review is complete (approximately 30 days)
  • If applicable, any changes will be applied to your account and you will be notified
