On February 23, Town Council received the final full-year progress report on the 2023-2026 Council Strategic Action Plan update marking an important milestone as the Town prepares for the municipal election and the commencement of a new term of Council on November 16, 2026.
Approved in July 2023, the Action Plan outlines Council’s vision, mission and values and acts as a roadmap to help guide Council’s decision making during the 2023 to 2026 term of office. The plan focuses on four strategic priorities that reflect what matters most to the community: Growth Management, Community Belonging, Environmental Sustainability and Accountable Government.
The update provides an overview of the progress made in the third year of the four-year plan, and is a strategic framework that guides Council decision-making, organization priorities and day-to-day service delivery.
As of December 31, 2025, the progress report shows that:
- 44 action items (73 per cent) have been completed or are ongoing
- 9 action items (15 per cent) are scheduled for completion by the end of 2026
- 1 action item (two per cent) was cancelled
- 6 action items (10 per cent) have been deferred to 2027
By the end of this Council term, 88 per cent of Action Plan initiatives are expected to be completed or progressing as ongoing work.
