What was passed?

Council for the Town of Oakville approved By-law 2026-066 to adopt Official Plan Amendment 066 and Zoning By-law Amendment 2026-067 under sections 17(23) and 34(18) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended.

The purpose and effect of the applications is to permit the development of a six-storey mixed-use residential building with a daycare facility on the ground floor together with surface and underground parking, and protection of the Natural Heritage System.

Legal notice

Any appeals to the proposed official plan amendment and zoning by-law amendment must be filed with the Town Clerk at 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3; must set out the reasons for the appeal; and must be accompanied by the fee required by the Ontario Land Tribunal. A copy of the appeal form is available from the Ontario Land Tribunal website.

Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Town of Oakville Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal, but the person or public body did not make written comments or oral submissions before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing unless in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

The last day for filing a notice of appeal is June 8, 2026.
