What was passed?

Zoning By-law 2026-046 was approved by Council for the Town of Oakville on Monday, April 20, 2026, under section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended.

The purpose of By-law 2026-046 is  to rezone the majority of the site from Future Development (FD) to General Urban (GU), Natural Heritage System (NHS) and Stormwater Management Facility (SMF) under Zoning By-law 2009-189, as amended, (the “Zoning By-law”) along with site specific amendments for the subject property to allow for a combination of townhouse blocks and detached lots resulting in 132 dwellings. Some partial blocks will be combined with adjacent subdivisions which will result in a total of 139 dwellings being generated.

Legal notice

Any appeals to the proposed zoning by-law amendment must be filed with the Town Clerk at 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3; must set out the reasons for the appeal; and must be accompanied by the fee required by the Ontario Land Tribunal. A copy of the appeal form is available from the Ontario Land Tribunal website.

Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Town of Oakville Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal, but the person or public body did not make written comments or oral submissions before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing unless in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

The last day for filing a notice of appeal is May 19, 2026.
