The Council Strategic Plan sets the direction for the Oakville community.
The Council Strategic Plan sets the direction for the Oakville community while the Business Plan helps identify the priorities for Council’s four-year term of office.
These plans are developed in consultation with residents, businesses, community partners, and town staff and are reflective of what the community sees for the future of the community and what actions need to be taken to ensure Oakville continues to be one of the best places to live.
Development of Oakville’s long-term vision and 2023-2026 Business Plan is underway
The Town of Oakville is renewing its long-term vision and developing priorities for Town Council’s four-year term in office. Thank you to everyone who took our survey or who came out to an open house throughout March and April, 2023. The response has been great.
What's next
Council endorsed the key elements of the new Strategic Plan on May 17, 2023. Review the staff report, summary of community feedback based on engagement opportunities (including phone and online surveys, open house events in each ward, and consultation with community groups) offered during March and April and an analysis of research compiled through a global scan of municipal trends and a community profile from the May 17, 2023, Council meeting agenda.

You are invited share your thoughts on the key elements of the new Strategic Plan being developed to guide Council’s decision making over the next four years, and what the community envisions for its future. The key elements include:
- the town’s new long-term vision: a vibrant and livable community for all;
- mission: serving the community in a responsible, inclusive way, dedicated to building economic, social, and environmental sustainability;
- guiding principles: leadership, inclusivity, excellence, sustainability, quality of life, fiscal responsibility;
- strategic priorities: growth management, community belonging, environmental sustainability and accountable government; and
- objectives under each strategic priority.
Email your comments to Sarah Lewis from Deloitte at sarlewis@deloitte.ca. Comments received will help inform the full draft of the Council Strategic Plan and 2023-2026 Business Plan, which will include specific actions and initiatives under the endorsed strategic priorities and objectives.
