St. Jude's Cemetery Culvert Replacement

Design work is currently underway to replace an approximately 135-metre-long corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culvert located directly beneath the roadway within St. Jude’s Cemetery. The existing culvert has significantly deteriorated and will be replaced with a new pipe of similar size and function to continue conveying stormwater through the cemetery. 

The proposed design includes: 

• Replacing the existing CSP culvert with a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe of equivalent size  
• Installation of headwalls at both the inlet and outlet, complete with safety grates  
• Reconstruction and repaving of the cemetery roadway

Expected project timeline

• Detailed design completion – Winter/Spring 2026
• Construction begins – Spring 2026 (subject to weather)
