St. Jude's Cemetery Culvert Replacement

Project information related to culvert replacement at St. Jude's Cemetery.

About the project

The Town of Oakville is advancing work to replace an aging stormwater culvert located beneath the roadway within St. Jude’s Cemetery. The existing 135 metre corrugated steel pipe has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement to ensure the continued safe conveyance of stormwater through the area. The work will include

  • Replacement of the existing CSP culvert with a new high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe of equivalent size and function
  • Installation of new headwalls with safety grates at the inlet and outlet
  • Reconstruction and repaving of the cemetery roadway above the culvert

Project status

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 1, 2026 (weather permitting) and is expected to be completed by end of August 2026.

What to expect during construction

St. Jude’s Cemetery will remain open during construction.

  • Interments, visitations, and cemetery services will continue
  • Portions of the cemetery driveway will be temporarily closed to vehicles. A temporary parking area will be provided for visitors
